But, after always being able to book 500 days in advance, allowing guests to secure their place at their preferred resort before potentially rescheduling to use Disney’s annual deals, Disney World will now reduce future bookings. Effective immediately (August 19, 2022), the resort has announced that it will only allow reservations through December 2023, with all reservations then becoming available when the next batch of annual offers become available. The Disney World announcement reads:

As of August 19, 2022, room-only reservations can only be booked through the annual product release dates. As a result, you will no longer be able to make room-only reservations beyond the annual product launch dates.

Starting August 19, guests can book room-only stays through our current available booking window, which runs until December 31, 2023. For guests looking to book beyond our current available dates, new annual packages and extended date availability generally become available in late spring.

However, while this reduction in future bookings may seem like a barrier between Guests and the dates they have chosen – let’s not forget that prices at Disney Parks are rising faster than ever, so it’s likely that Guests are hoping pre-booking well in advance – this paves the way for fairness and allows all guests to be on equal footing when booking their room-only vacation. Disney dinner wrote:

Annual pass holders and locals who wanted a stay but haven’t visited the theme parks often book rooms without tickets (although it can be said that pass holders have indeed already purchased their tickets through their pass purchase). Disney has reported at least 75% occupancy (and often more) this year, making these rooms in high demand.
