Virgin offers new platform for hotel deals and car rentals – Travel Weekly

Virgin Australia Group has partnered with Rocket Travel to launch a new booking platform that provides customers with hotel room deals and car rental options that can be booked directly on the airline’s websites.

Rocket Travel is owned by the same holding company as and Agoda, Booking Holdings Inc.

The partnership marks the first time Virgin Australia has offered hotel and car rental options through a single partner since the airline relaunched less than two years ago.

Dave Emerson, CCO of Virgin Australia Group, said the airline was offering hundreds of thousands of high-value travel options to customers through a simple new booking process provided by Rocket Travel.

“Virgin Australia is committed to always delivering the best value and experience to its customers at every stage of travel and the relaunch of a hotel deals and car rental platform is a great example of this,” said said Emerson.

“We know how popular and Agoda are in the Australian market, and our customers now have direct access to hundreds of thousands of hotel rooms, car rental options and exclusive deals at around the world via the Rocket Travel platform, accessible directly from the Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer websites and apps.

To celebrate the launch, Velocity Frequent Flyer members who make an eligible hotel reservation by September 13, 2022 will earn Triple Points, the equivalent of 9 points per dollar spent. Members will also earn 1,000 bonus points on qualifying car rental bookings made by September 30, 2022.
