Motorhomes also include an extra winter prep pack to help keep campers warm, including heaters, extra battery and heating pads.

Burke recommended several popular travel spots just a few hours’ drive from Los Angeles, including Idyllwild, Lake Arrowhead, Oak Glen, Joshua Tree, Palm Springs and Big Sur.

Travelers Autobarn also offers driving directions on its website for those who don’t have a specific location in mind.
