Garth Brooks Five Croke Park concerts spur Dublin hotel bookings as fans rush to check in
IRISH hotels have seen a surge in bookings with fans rushing to buy rooms in the capital to coincide with Garth Brooks concert dates.
Three more dates for the country music superstar were announced today – due to high demand for her two dates announced last week.
The five concerts – on September 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17, 2022 – all hotels in the capital will be guaranteed to be booked.
According to their website, the Croke Park Hotel is fully booked for all concert dates.
His concerts scheduled for 2014 would have brought in 50 million euros to the Dublin economy if they took place.
The figure includes transport, food and drink and accommodation.
If the concerts were to take place in 2014, the Irish Hotels Federation was budgeting around € 20m for accommodation, the Restaurant Association of Ireland expected around € 12-15m for industry and the Licensed Vintners Association expected around 15 million euros, according to TheJournal.ie.
Tickets for Croker’s concerts went on sale this morning with standing tickets at € 65.56 and seated tickets at € 81, excluding service charges.
The singer could end up taking a hit of € 8million by charging Irish fans the price of 2014 tickets to make up for the canceled Croke Park concerts that year, the Irish Sun previously revealed.
Meanwhile, Garth Brooks said the excitement over his concerts at Croke Park was “incredible” as fans were in tears this morning trying to secure the coveted tickets.
The singer tweeted: “IRELAND !!!!! I just woke up to the news !!! Unbelievable !!!!! All my love for you !!! love, g #GarthInIreland.
